Keystone Kidtopia Snow Fort 2019

The Keystone Kidtopia Snow Fort, Sitting on top of Dercum Mountain above 12,000ft in elevation,  is one of my favorite builds each year. This is where I get to bring my favorite artists together. Each one of us gets to be a grown child for a few weeks as we all work together in bringing this oversized playhouse to life.

The logistics of building The Worlds Largest Snow Fort have to be planned each year. We coordinate with the mountain park team and bring in heavy equipment for the build. The snow is made, harvested, stored and then retrieved. It all is pushed and packed into place by snowcats and excavators, which then allows for our specialized carving team to take to the mound so that we can carve out and release our vision.

This is a multiple week build and I personally will spend over four weeks a year’s building and maintaining the Kidtopia Snow Fort
